First of all, I'd like to thank all who participated in the Snowflake Swap. It was my first time to host a swap. I was determined that no one would NOT get a swap package--and everyone who participated followed through on their words, were wonderful communicators, and sent their packages. Thank you to each of you. I hope you had fun.
I swapped packages with Stefanie from Germany (click HERE to visit her beautiful blog). I was very excited to swap with her....and little did I know how incredibly wonderful a package she would send me! I sucked in my breath upon opening the box and barely breathed while going through what she sent! Everything is absolutely beautiful. Her attention to detail in how she packaged everything, in what she made and chose, and in every part was amazing. I am so thankful. It definitely made up for the swaps in the past when I never received anything from my swap partners. Thank you soooo much Stefanie!
This is how beautifully she packed the box.
She knows I love tea...and was sweet enough to include a few bags for me--along with a beautiful tag. I can't wait for a cup.
This is an adorable jar (even the jar stuck to the theme of blues and whites) of glitter. The glitter looks across between snow and sugar. It is sparkly and beautiful.
She included a few yummy treats that I MAY share with my husband! The envelope that had her kind note was even a snow-themed card in a snow-themed envelope.
The snowflake ornament with "snow" in the center is painted white and even has fake snow on it--I really like it. She included sweet-faced snowman ornaments and a snow-white dishcloth (that is so pretty I almost to use it).
I thought this ice skate was a great idea. Stefanie made this ornament, and I will treasure it.
These are mitten napkins and will be used for a special tea sometime.
I felt like a little kid as I eagerly opened this little decorated matchbox. First of all, I think the matchbox is beautiful--complete with paper lace and a glittery snowflake. In it were these brilliant blue beads (mmmm, wonder how she knew I liked beads?) and these little crocheted flowers. I'm thrilled.
Don't you love how she packaged everything? She put such time and effort into it all, and I appreciate and enjoyed it immensely.
She included more little treats including a pretty picture frame, snowflake embellishments, snowflake ornaments made out of a loofah-type material, and absolutely gorgeous blue mother of pearl buttons.
The final items are these mirrored snowflake ornaments. I loved the packaging they were in actually, so I didn't take them out for the picture. They are just exquisite.
Stefanie...you spoiled me! Thank you again, so much, for everything. It was a fabulous swap!
Today is the first real snowfall of the season, and the day when the kids and I traditionally get out the clear, glistening crystal, glass, and resin snowflakes to put up on our windows (they will remain up until March sometime). I love snowflakes...they are shiny, sparkly, glittery, and beautiful in every possible way. In honor of this event, I have decided to host a swap. Here are the rules:
1) Must sign up by midnight December 21. International participants welcome.
2) Must email me at treasuresandtea@gmail.com with the following information: Name, mailing address, email address, blog address, and whether you mind swapping internationally. I will email you back a confirmation that I have received your info.
3) Swap box must include at least one snowflake item (napkins, ornament, candle, candy, etc.) and at least one handmade item (tag, pin, charm, ornament, ATC, dishcloth, etc.). Most if not all of the colors of the items must be "snow" colors--think silver, clear, shades of white, all shades of blue, glitter, crystal.
4) Swap partners will be emailed out on January 2 for the mailing of items by January 16. (Hey, there's nothing else going on in the middle of January--might as well do a swap!).
Now, one important thing about this swap is that I will not tolerate anyone who doesn't hold up their end of the deal. The last swap I participated in was terribly disappointing. I worked hard on my swap items, sent them off to my three partners, and didn't get anything in return from any of them! Please don't sign up for this if you are not serious about participating.I will post about specific people who don't live up to their word, so please follow through.

With the onset of winter...and all of it's snowy days...I have a tradition, I guess it is now becoming, of putting up snowflakes in our windows from the beginning of winter to spring's first arrival (my kids love helping put them up). I think there are few other of God's creations more delicate, detailed, sparkly, and beautiful than the snowflake (just can't resist anything that sparkles!). You know, snow could have been black or orange or some other depressing and stressful color, but, no, God allowed snow to glisten white to brighten up the dull, brown world until the first few tender red buds and green blades are seen...and beautiful colors return once again. I've collected snowflakes for many years now--some glass and some acryllic--and love adorning our windows with them each year during these bleak months. When the sun shine makes it's way around our house and shines through these snowflakes, spectrums are scattered in each room at different times of the day with little bursts of color to brighten up our wintry days.
